1533-1554: Sognepræst i Starup-Grarup
[104] Records tell us that Ivar Corvinus/Ravn came from an old farming-family in the area around Vilstrup, located just south of Haderslev. He became the first Lutheran minister for Starup-Grarup parish circa 1533 until 1554; Ivar Ravn died sometime between 1555-1569.
The identity of Ivars's wife seems to be less than certain. According to Bornholms Samlinger II, nr. 17, page. 145, she was Botilla Ivarsdatter (Ancharius?). Another source has her as Botilla Nisdatter Krøger, the daughter of Nicolaus Krøger, alderman (rådmand) and later the mayor (borgmester) of Haderslev.
On possible male descendent of Ivar Ravn: Arends and Archelis think that Ivar Ravn had a son who was teacher(kantor) for the latin school in Haderslev from 1599-1616, but that is probably not correct according to Edvard Skovgaard. If anything he is possibly Ivar's grandson. He was father to Jens Ravn (1601-66), pastor for Haderslev 1631-44 and for Moltrup-Bjerning 1640-59. Thereafter he went northward, and finally became parish clergyman for Bjert, 1660-65.
